The Certificate course in Pre and Primary Teachers Training, a concise course intended primarily for aspiring and working teachers interested to acquire a formal certification as well as knowledge in pre-primary teaching. In order to achieve relevant learning outcome, today’s pre primary teachers need to be professionally trained who can inspire and engage students aged 2-12 years in a new learning environment which can provide a holistic development of the young children
The program aims to acquaint a trainee teacher with the fundamentals of child development in the early years. It provides theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of principles of early childhood education, based on child development. It will enable student teachers to acquire attitudes, skills, insights and techniques necessary to deal with pre-school children.

Course content: The preprimary teachers training course includes theory and practical work.
THEORY: Includes Four subjects
Ø Paper I- Child psychology
The subject will provide an understanding of development principles from conception to six years of age. Participants will learn to identify and promote children’s development major milestones within the area of physical, motor, social, personal, emotional, cognitive, language & moral development. It aims at creating awareness about the various issues faced by both normal children and children with special needs. It will enable to understand the process of bringing about positive change in the lives of children
Ø Paper II- Child Health & Nutrition
This subject explores holistic health and wellness principles to support children’s development. Emphasis is placed on strategies to promote children’s understanding of good health and nutritional habits, personal hygiene and first aid.
Ø Paper III- Methods of preschool education
This subject will provide an overview of the field of Early Childhood Education with an emphasis on quality care & learning. Students will examine historical perspectives, theories of curriculum & the different approaches to preschool education.
Ø Paper IV –Organisation and management of preschools
This subject will explore the various techniques of working with children. It will enable the participant to design and implement programs and curriculum to meet the development needs of children.
Practical work:
practical record forms an integral part of the course, it is planned to introduce the basic skills of writing, reading and creative activities, the practical work is child centered and enhances the skills of a teacher.
The practical work is the soul of the PPTTC .
Ø Presentation and discussions: Allows the trainee to express themselves in a group and involve in the discussion that will encourage higher level of participation.
Ø Creative learning techniques: The creative record deals with the creativity side of the pre-primary education, it deals with colors, drawing, coloring, and collage work.
Ø Art and Craft Techniques: This includes paper pasting, papercraft, origami, finger puppets and sticks puppets.
Ø Readiness activities: Introduces the trainee to the academic aspect of the pre-primary class.
Ø Teaching aids: Use of teaching aids are the most traditional and authentic method, it helps the children in overall development, we make the trainee teacher understand and meet the needs of young children.
Example: letters and numbers flash cards, rhymes and story flash cards, charts and models.
Ø Field visit: This gives Hand on training to the trainee which enable them to gain real life insights into how children learn and grow.
Visit to special school and playschool will be arranged for observation.
Ø Case study: this will help the trainee to learn to apply the knowledge and skills in the development of a child.
Ø Certification: The certificate will be awarded to the trainee teacher after successful submission of assignments, records, and assessment in four theory papers.
By the end of this course each of the student teachers would:
